                Karatu Library Foundation

Karatu Library Foundation's primary goal is to provide support for library and literacy services in Yola, Nigeria and the surrounding areas. The encouragement of a reading culture and the growth of literacy in this area of Adamawa State are critical parts of the mission of the project.

By establishing this non-governmental organization we hope to provide for sustainable library and information development in the Yola area. We would like to see the community benefit from the knowledge and opportunities that free access to information can bring to them. We feel that the Karatu Library Foundation has the potential to help strengthen educational goals by providing information for further growth and consequently spreading  knowledge within the community.

The work of KLF takes place in and around Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. The core group working on the project now consists of Staff members, Volunteers, Friends of KLF, and a competent Board. This variety of supporters make up a strong group who understand the challenges of developing a sustainable project of this sort in Nigeria.
